Twin Cities 10 Mile

I finished! My chip time was 1:55:48 and my other time was 2:02 (the race officially started at 7:13 but I didn't go accross the starting line till 7:19 or so, I go by the chip time!)

It was only about 50degrees and it rained the last two miles but other than that, I thought it went really well. it was fun and I just kept slow comfortable pace and it wasn't bad at all. Now, I'm not too sore but my hip joint are feelin it.

all in all, I'm really happy I could finish. I didn't really train well at all. So I am content with my finish!

8 years

Today is our 8 year anniversary! That's like being with the same person from the time you are in fourth grade until you graduate. That seems like a long time. I told hubby that I enjoyed this 8 years more than the school eight years.

We love each other. He he.

Jobs for the week of July 14

We have had a very productive week. We decided on our goals for stuff to get done for the week and we got all of them done:
Clean element - inside and out
Process Recycling
Clean Gutters
Make a Party Info Card for the store
Make a Referral Card for the Store

AND we got an additional task done as well!
We Cleaned the Garage!

IMPRESSIVE I know! We may actually be responsible adults one day!

TC 10 Mile, October 5th

It is official. Hubby and I won the race lottery to enter the Twin Cities 10 Mile. The race is one of the most beautiful in the nation and it is run along with the Twin Cities Marathon. Will be a big challenge for us. Should be interesting!

I really wasn't sure I wanted to commit to another big event, even though that typically is what it takes to get me exercising consistently. I decided that I didn't want to train for it alone. I threw the question out to Hubby, pretty sure he'd say no and I wouldn't have to think about it anymore. Well, the last day to enter the race entry lottery, I emailed him and asked 'in or out?' He replied, "in...". I thought, "sh*t..."

And a day later, we got our winning confirmation. Hubby says, "I didn't think we'd actually 'win'!"

Hobbling

I lifted legs yesterday which means today I am hobbling along. I debate whether or not I really need to go to the bathroom, print multiple pages and then get up and walk to the printer because it hurts to get up out of the chair and sit down again! I even cut my workout short to try and minimize the DOMS...no such luck. Oh well - feels good to go back to the gym again!

It is kind of like going back to school, when it is a choice you get a lot more out of the experience and appreciate it more. Going to the gym takes me back to just a couple years ago, pre-business, when I had multiple hours a day to do whatever I chose. I'm really loving it!

Hubby and I had a wonderful Sunday. We watched a couple movies, took a walk, took a nap and cleaned up after the big fridge installation. Our fridge went out on Saturday so we put a different one in on Saturday night so there was a bit of a mess.

All in all, a good weekend for us. Now if I could just walk normally... :-)

The Return of Buff and Healthy Me??

So, as those around me know, I go back and forth with being health and...not...

I've been looking for 'signs' recently. Reading blogs quite a bit, reading old Oxygen mags, etc.

On Monday, the announcement of the NANBF show in April popped into my email. Cool.
On Wednesday, I opened the poster for the Lifestyle Achievement portion of the competition...I competed in this division in 2006. I'm totally pictured on the poster. Sign #2.

Today I get an email at work from my hubby. "I got you a FREE membership at the gym for 2 months!" Ok...so I guess I've got my signs, huh?

I'm thinking of going for the Lifestyle achievement award. I know it is kind of questionable to RE-DO a lifestyle transformation, but as J pointed out, I'd just be showing people that you can do it again! We shall see...

Snowy morning in April...

Yep, snowing again. None of the snowing is accumulating though...we are lucky. SD and Western MN have up to 2 feet of snow again!

Got a plan from my sister and I've started eating healthy again. Hubby is as well and eating healthy, too. Saturday and Sunday both went well. Not following 100% but doing well overall.

Will start getting workouts in soon. I have some Turbulence Training plans and my friend bought Red Carpet Ready so I might use some stuff from that as well. Both are mostly full-body circuits. I plan on doing those for a while as I don't have a gym membership and circuits will be easy at home and great for getting a foundation built up again.

Worked all weekend at the store. Gave hubby yesterday off since he has to work the next 6 days in a row as well. It was a nice, steady weekend so that is good.

There was an NPC natural show in town over the weekend. Didn't make it to that one. There is an NANBF show coming up in a couple weeks. Think I will go!
